America’s Promise Alliance, names Lexington, Ky in the “100 Best Communities for Young People”. We provide several places to play and learn besides our wonderful schools and our Bluegrass homes. This increases not only your child’s social skills but their ability to focus in and out of the classroom. A three-time 100 Best winner, Lexington continues to keep with cutting edge opportunities for children by keeping them engaged.
Lexington strives to “change the face of education in Fayette County” at every turn to keep ahead of the best. Our efforts are to help ensure that every student in the Fayette County Public Schools receives a world-class education. We have also embarked upon the “2020 Vision Project” consisting of 21 work groups, each focusing on a different sector of education. This initiative developed recommendations to chart the course for a stellar school district. The Community Partnership Leadership Team, a subcommittee of the 2020 Vision plan, is increasing individual group impact through the donation of time, expertise, funds, and other resources for the benefit of nurturing healthy minds, bodies and good habits for children. Several other special interest groups have sprouted through this initiative to help us succeed in continuing to be the amongst best communities for young people for years to come
