Richmond is the county seat for Madison County.  With a population of over 30,000 in Richmond city and 75,000 in Madison County, Richmond is the 6th largest city in the state of Kentucky.  Madison County is the 9th largest county out of the 120 counties in our state and is conveniently located just 20 miles south of Lexington.  Our largest employer is Eastern Kentucky University and we boast 20 primary and secondary schools in our county.  The newest addition to Richmond is our 120 acre Richmond Centre that includes major shopping and dining as well as a large movie cinema.

Richmond Property is selling very well in 2009.  According to the MadisonCounty Board of Realtor’s multiple listing service, the average days on market is 179 and homes are selling for 95.37% of listing price.
